Here you will find some biographical information on BTBarry.
Who is BTBarry? That would be me Brian Terrance Barry.
Well for those of you who know me, here I am with two of my
brothers, a cousin, and an old family friend.
For those you you who don't know me, I'm the young looking one.
I was born in San Jose, California. The 6th child of David
and Barbara Barry. I was raised in the Rosegarden Area. There is quite a bit
of history in this area. Most of it is personal, as it is my history. Then
there are other historical facts about the area that may be of interest.
Such as our house was 1-1/2 blocks west of The Alameda. The route of commerce
along the Mission Trail. Our home was built in the first Land Tract recorded
in Santa Clara County. The Chapman and Davis Tract.
Being of Irish-Catholic background I was educated by the
Sisters of the Blessed Virgin Mary through grammar school at St Leo the Great
Catholic School. I was then taught by the Jesuits at Bellarmine College
Preparatory. I graduated with the class of '74. After high school, I started
attending classes at San Jose State University. Having to support myself, I
left school to work. This is something that I wish I had not done. But as
they say hindsight is 20-20. One of my jobs was working as the night
attendant at a gas station. This was back when getting gas meant driving in
and having the tank filled and windows washed. I got to know some of the
regulars. Not on a personal level, just friendly conversation with people
that you see an a regular basis. One of the regulars was Bob Rennick. He
came in everyday and filled his truck. Bob had a daughter. Her name is
Marie. Well, I don't know exactly how it happened but Marie and I went out on
a date. It was late in the summer and the Santa Clara County Fair was going
on. I didn't have a car at the time so Bob let me use his. The date was
great. Marie and I hit it off very well. After about a year, and three or
four break ups and boyfriends, Marie agreed to be my wife. We were engaged
for 18 months. We wanted to wait until Marie finished high school. We were
married at St. Claire's Church on Saturday March 18, 1978. We will have been
married 26 years on our next anniversary.
I have been working on various sites since 1996.
I have found FrontPage to be a very useful application in the creation and
maintenance of my a web site. It is very versatile and compatible with all of
the other Microsoft Office Family members. One of the features of this
software package is a GIF animator. In my opinion, this is a must buy software
package that anyone who is currently making web pages, or will be in the
future, should check out.
